Why Do I Feel So Tired All of the Time?

Have you been feeling tired, lethargic, or downright lazy lately? Don’t beat yourself up over it. Chances are it’s not your fault — it’s your body’s fault! A constant feeling of fatigue is usually related to several medical conditions and drastic lifestyle changes. If you always feel like you’re in a state of fatigue, here’s why:

You May Be Dealing With…

  • Heart Disease – Do you find that you’re always tired, and sometimes out of breath? These are common warning signs of a person with heart disease. When the heart cannot pump the adequate amount of blood, fluid can begin to fill in the lungs. This is why you might feel a shortness of breath and a constant state of laziness.
  • Hypothyroidism – Dealing with an underactive thyroid can cause you to deal with many serious health effects. You may experience serious weight gain, dry skin, constipation, and of course — constant fatigue.
  • Medication Change – Every person will react to medications differently, which is why there’s always a wide array of side effects that can be experienced. One of the most common side effects when taking a new medication is tiredness. This can be commonly experienced when taking antidepressants, blood pressure drugs, antihistamines, and anti-anxiety drugs. Consult with your doctor when experiencing side effects to adjust the dosage, timing of consumption, or the medication itself.
  • Sleeping Issues – Waking up tired isn’t always because you didn’t go to bed early enough — you could be missing out on the right quality of sleep. Those with sleep apnea will have pauses in their breathing, resulting in less oxygen being inhaled and a lesser quality of sleep. An overactive bladder can also cause a person to be tired, as they will have multiple nighttime trips to the bathroom to relieve themselves.

If you’re always feeling tired, you may have a medical condition that needs to be diagnosed or a lifestyle change that needs to be corrected. For other useful tips and information, visit our blog!
