Resident Spotlight:
Carol Aaronson has been living at The Arbors at Hauppauge community for a year. Being sightless, having to adjust to her new home and the challenges of the pandemic; one could understand how difficult of an adjustment that might be. Because of Ms. Carol’s determination, perseverance, and desire to maintain her independence, Carol has made the adjustment with ease. From day one Carol has enjoyed the company of her tablemates. They have become great friends; often seen chatting beyond meal service, attending activities together or interacting with each others’ families. Carol says that she loves it here!! Her favorite activities are dancing, listening to her talking books and playing casino games with her Alexa. As Carol escorts her tablemate to the dining room, staff and residents are truly inspired by this former black diamond skier’s “never give up” attitude. Carol says she does not miss her home in Coram because The Arbors is home. Welcome home Carol.
