Loner to Social Butterfly

Meet Cecelia, a retired nurse and self-proclaimed loner. Her son Michael realized his mom needed a bit more help after she suffered a stroke. Although it was Cecelia’s intention to go home after building her strength, and tried for a few days, but she realized that she missed the workers and friends she had gained while here. Cecelia in the beginning was reluctant to come out of her room, declining many invitations to activities. Cecelia began to try one activity a week, usually happy hour for her drink of choice. Then it was entertainment, and now she is out with regularity. Her son is happy to see his mom happy and enjoying herself. He is surprised that she acclimated so well and thanks the team for helping with the transition. He has peace of mind knowing that she is in a safe place and has friends.
