One of the most important things you can do for your body is to get an adequate amount of vitamins and nutrients each and every day. An essential one that you should be getting enough of is vitamin D. If you don’t get enough vitamin D each day, you could be experiencing some or all of these side effects.
Exhaustion
Those who are deficient in vitamin D will constantly feel exhausted throughout the day. Many will have trouble sleeping and could develop select sleeping disorders. For the few that do get a full night’s worth of sleep, fatigue can still set in. Increasing your intake of vitamin D will help improve these symptoms until they are no longer present.
Depression
An event or action doesn’t need to happen for a person to feel or be depressed. A chemical imbalance in the brain can occur and it is usually found that there are low levels of vitamin D in the blood. There is a link between being deficient in this vitamin and having symptoms of depression. However, it is not clear if low levels of vitamin D increases depressive symptoms or if depression causes low levels of vitamin D.
Achy Bones
Do you ever wake up with aching bones, muscles, and joints in the morning? Is the pain worse in the wintertime? If so, a vitamin D deficiency could be to blame. Bones can even soften as a person lives with a constant vitamin D deficiency. This will make your bones more prone to breaking or fracturing.
A deficiency in vitamin D is not good for your overall health and the side effects are made loud and clear by your body. For other useful tips and information, visit our blog!
