Vidas100thBirthday

Vida Hopkins Tallon celebrated her 100th birthday with her family and friends at The Arbors Assisted Living at Islandia on September 15th.  Born in Queens on September 15, 1915 to Wilhemina and David Hopkins, Vida raised a family of five children with husband Robert Tallon on Long Island.  Over the past 100 years, Vida has lived in New York, North Carolina, California and has recently returned back to Long Island.  She was a longtime typist for Photonews and enjoyed combing the beaches of Baiting Hollow for sandglass.  She attributes her longevity to being stubborn and being a very avid walker, walking everywhere her feet will take her.  She makes friends everywhere she goes and has an amazing ability to adapt to ever-changing life circumstances with an optimistic outlook.

Happy 100th Birthday Vida!
