Foods That Work Wonders For Your Circulation

Foods That Work Wonders For Your Circulation
January 25, 2017
Having good circulation is important so that your organs can receive the proper amount of blood, oxygen, and nutrients. However, when you have poor circulation, your body will experience muscle cramps, numbness, and eventually organ problems. If you’re looking for easy ways to improve your circulation, start chomping away at these foods.
- Dark Chocolate – Everyone start jumping for joy because chocolate has officially made the list! Studies have shown that dark chocolate (in moderation) can help your body produce nitric oxide, which helps protect your heart and veins. Dark chocolate with at least 72 percent cocoa can also help improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels thanks to its antioxidants.
- Beet Juice – Beets and their juice are extremely rich in nitrates, which improves blood flow and helps your muscles receive oxygen faster. For those with high blood pressure, a cup per day of this magic beet juice can reduce your overall blood pressure levels.
- Kale – We get it — kale is good for you! But did you know that kale can also help replenish red blood cells and increase the rate at which oxygen is transported through the body? Sounds like you need to hop on the kale bandwagon, and fast!
- Coffee – Drinking cup after cup of coffee throughout the day is a terrible habit that all too many people have. On the other hand, drinking one to two cups daily has been shown to improve circulation by 30 percent within a 75-minute window. It’s time to put down the decaf and pick up the good stuff!
- Garlic – Plaque and clogged arteries are the main reasons for poor circulation. To help prevent arteries from becoming clogged, start adding more garlic to your diet — two to three cloves to be exact! Sure, garlic can leave you with a case of bad breath, but a smooth and clear circulation system is worth it!
By eating certain foods, you can help improve your body’s circulation — doesn’t that make you love food even more!? For other useful tips and information, visit our blog!
