May was a whirlwind of fun! Check out some of our favorite moments at The Arbors:
A Special Day!
Happy 100th Birthday Rita Romano! So much to celebrate. Surrounded by family and friends, we danced, ate cake, and also enjoyed a special solo performance by our beautiful birthday girl! What an honor to celebrate such a momentous occasion with a special lady!
Happy Mother’s Day!
The Arbors at Hauppauge hosted their annual Mother’s Day Garden Tea Party in honor of all the Queens in our lives! Our chefs prepared a wonderful assortment of finger sandwiches, a variety of teas, and we toasted the moms with a refreshing chilled Bellini. The dance floor was hopping as tunes were provided by Bobby G.
The Kindness Rock Movement!
Students from Brettonwoods ended their yearly reading program with our Residents from The Arbors Assisted Living at Islandia East by participating in the Kindness Rock movement sweeping the nation. Each participant picked out a rock, decorated it and then wrote word(s) of encouragement to each other on the rocks. Bridging the Generation Gap never looked so good.
A Special Group of Children with Big Hearts!
What a great day our GrandFriends spent with the children from Idle Hour Elementary School for their graduation BBQ at The Arbors at Bohemia. The afternoon was full of fun, games, BBQ, and words of wisdom and thanks from the residents to the children as well as from the children to our residents.
Remembering and Honoring our Veteran Heroes
Our residents enjoyed the afternoon at Eisenhower Park with our Veteran Liaison Pat Yngstrom. Together they visited the veterans memorial remembering and honoring our heroes who have given their all. We will never forget and continue to honor the men and women and their families who have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. It was a beautiful afternoon spent with really incredible friends, our beloved veterans.
Now that June has officially started, we are looking forward to having more summer fun!
