September was so much fun! From car shows and Rosh Hashanah celebrations, to visiting with special friends, the residents were kept busy with activities!
Back to the Future!
Our residents at The Arbors at Islandia East celebrated Back To the Future and traveled back to the 50’s! We kicked off the week with enjoying the beauty of some classic cars. Special thanks to the “Still Cruisin Car Club.” During the week our Residents also enjoyed afternoon socials 50’s style with some good old fashioned ice cream sodas and french fries. What’s a Back to the Future without a Sock Hop!!
Happy Rosh Hashana!
Rabbi Moss and B’nai Israel Reform Temple were here to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with our residents at The Arbors at Hauppauge. We sang and listened as Rabbi Moss read from the Holy Day Prayer Book and played the Shofar. Also special guest Rabbi Jessica Rosenthal. It was a wonderful afternoon. May this new year be filled with health and happiness for you and your family ~ L’Shana Tova!!
Here’s to Friendship!
Most of us aspire to be like our parents, but for a few of us our parents not only inspire us but inspire others. Such is the case with a staff member here at The Arbors. Colleen Ennis grew up with a normal childhood watching her mother take care of her and her siblings. But just recently, Colleen realized how special her mother, Maureen Ennis really is. It was the day her mother came to The Arbors to donate 29 Friendship Dolls to our residents who reside in our Safe Care neighborhood.
Now that October has officially started, we are looking forward to having some spooky fun! Stay tuned for more!
