Our Islandia East resident spotlight is no other than Roz Kozminsky! Roz, who is 92 ¾ years old, has been a resident at the Arbors for 3 years and continues to be an active part of our community. Born in Brooklyn, Roz met the love of her life, her late husband Irving at the wholesale store where she worked as a bookkeeper. After moving to Howard Beach, Roz and Irving raised their two children, then moved to Florida. Roz is a proud mother of a daughter and a son as well as their spouses, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. At the Arbors, Roz enjoys playing cards, gossiping with staff and peers, and loves to talk on the telephone. Some of her best memories are meeting her two close friends here, Helen and Lorraine. Roz keeps us all laughing and when asked to give a fun fact about herself she stated, “I like to talk, I’m sarcastic and I love humor.” A little piece of advice from Roz… “The best mother-in-law keeps her mouth shut and her pocketbook open.”
