“Grand-Friend” Visits at The Arbors at Bohemia

“Grand-friends” Program at The Arbors
Teaming up with local schools, residents have the opportunity to bond with young children by doing craft projects, reading, gardening or writing letters to each other. The intergenerational relationships are so important to both the children and the seniors, they are both continuously teaching each other new things.
This past December, Sycamore Elementary School visited our Bohemia community. Grades K-5 Band, Chorus and Orchestra with all their equipment and played and Caroled with our residents. Harvey Diamond played Harmonica for the children.
Everyone had a great time singing and enjoying their music when Idle Hour School and parents visited our community also. These “Grand-friend” holiday visits were spectacular for all ages.
