Just wanted to give a special thank you today to Yvonne, Fidel, and all the other loving and caring people who work at The Arbors in Hauppauge. We can’t thank you enough for looking out for my mom, Kitty Sanchez, each and every day. She has nothing but great things to say about both of you! It’s obvious that you have a lot of patience, dedication and a big heart to do all that you do for my mom and all the other residents as well. At least once a day, my mom tells me that she is so happy that she chose to live at The Arbors in Hauppauge (going on 3 years now). My family and I especially want to thank Yvonne and Fidel for doing the great job that you each do every day, always going above and beyond to make not only my mom feel special but all the other residents as well. Whenever I visit (at least once or twice a week), I always see you two having fun with the residents and making sure they are not bored. My mom loves coming downstairs to join the social activities every day, and I appreciate that you go looking for her when she’s not there. Especially for bowling! That means a lot to her that you know when she’s not around. You both truly are the Angels my mother needed at this time of her life. You make her smile every day. My family and I

My mom is a resident of Arbors Islandia West, and from day one of her residency, we encountered countless angels who made her transition wonderful. To June, Minerva, Caitlin, Vivian, who are always there with a smile and helping my mom with missing phone, missing remote, directing her to her everyday activity and helping me reach her. Thank you to the wellness angels who administer her pills and check-ups who make sure her well-being is taken care of. Thank you to Stephanie and Lauren, who oversee that her needs are taken care of in Arbor’s style. A big “thank you” to Gina and her staff who put together that daily activity and encouraged her to participate in order to make her day go great, especially during the pandemic and the lockdown, when one-on-one was facilitated, making a difficult situation to benefit my mom. “Thank you” does not seem much for the everyday caring you show our mom. Thank you to The Arbors strong team, with gratitude.

My mom is a resident at Arbors Westbury. The entire staff (from reception to management/Wellness/ kitchen/maintenance) has been awesome, and we’ve been able to see Mom through personal visits through her window and SKYPE CALLS. I’d like to recognize a few employees who have gone above/beyond with their compassion/kindness, and support during this very difficult time. They are Fatima Alvez, for her love, dedication, and compassion to all residents, including my mom. A true asset to Arbors. Amada (Deysy) Rodriguez for her caring and attention to mom’s needs as well as other residents. Andrilisa for the SKYPES and messages with Susan, which helps us stay connected and also walking with my mom.

During this stressful time around the Pandemic, I have personally found the entire staff at The Arbors of Bohemia taking that extra step to not only protect our loved ones but to assist us in our efforts to stay in touch and address any issues with our loved ones that may arise. Besides the Medical team and support personnel, I have had the experience to see the maintenance and housekeeping staff also step up in a circumstance when my mother needed a little extra assistance! I see everyone at The Arbors as an extension of our family when it comes to helping provide Mom with a safe and caring home away from home! I will never be able to thank them enough!

I would like to express the highest praise and appreciation to the angels who are caring for our most vulnerable loved ones. Christian is always pleasant and kind when I drop off supplies, and Randi is so supportive and kind when dealing with my concerns. Tawanda and the wellness team continue to face the current crisis with patience and care. When the stresses that we all are facing are a memory, what won’t be forgotten is the peace of mind that came from knowing that my loved one was in the hands of the team at The Arbors. Many blessings and appreciation from my family.

I am a doctor and know the local assisted living communities well. The Arbors stands out for several reasons, but most importantly because of the warmth of the staff and residents. My mom moved in a year ago and is very happy at The Arbors. The support staff are so caring, they check in on her every night. The on site medical care is excellent. Mom is followed by a superb physician, Dr. Rattner. Randi, the incredibly reliable case manager makes sure things run smoothly and always follows up.The Wellness Center manages a wide variety of medical conditions including diabetes, heart failure and COPD. My mom makes jewelry as a hobby. The entertainment staff helped her set up and hold a holiday art show to showcase her craft. Mom plays Rummykub and Bingo nightly with a competitive group of friends and enjoys a game of chair volleyball after breakfast. The best part about The Arbors is the staff. When you walk in, you’ll see a colorfully decorated lobby for holidays. Fatima greets you warmly at the front desk. Chef Albert trained at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and is a master chef. He goes out of his way to please.

The Arbors at Westbury is a great place for your aging loved one. They have activities for residents all throughout the day, and the staff here are fantastic. They are attentive and seem to really care about making a positive experience for their community. The leadership team is accessible during times of need, and they follow up on matters of concern. Giving up independent living is rough. No way to sugarcoat it. However, if you need to find a true home for a family member, the Arbors at Westbury is a great option.

We worked with Friends For Life in finding an assisted living that would work for my mom. After looking at several places, we landed at the Arbors at Westbury. My mom has had several health issues while trying to adjust to life in assisted living. To say the staff here has been accommodating is an understatement. The Wellness and Care Manager are attentive and caring and supportive. Dr. Rattiner pays extremely close attention to my mom’s medical needs. The care specialists are there to provide assistance with daily hygiene and all levels of care. The recreation staff are fun and engaging. Everyone knows my mom’s name and encourages her to participate in daily activities. Reception ensures my mom gets her daily mail, newspaper and deliveries with a smile. Housekeeping keeps her room and laundry clean and maintenance takes care of anything she wants to hang up or plug in, etc. We are very happy with the care my mom receives and the love and attention she’s given on a daily basis. When we have a concern it is addressed immediately and we are never met with resistance. Thank you to all who take care of my mom with such TLC!

My father moved in to The Arbors earlier this month and I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the facility. Every staff member has been knowledgeable, welcoming, and reassuring. The residents are friendly and engaged. The common areas are homey, the dining room is lovely, and the rooms are spacious. My father reports that the food is good and he is enjoying the daily social hour and the exercise activities. Making the decision to move into an assisted living community is rarely easy, but everyone at The Arbors at Hauppauge has helped ease the transition from our very first tour. I am confident that I can communicate with them anytime, and that my father is a valued and respected member of The Arbors family.

The staff and director, Amy Cardito, couldn’t have been nicer upon our multiple visits. My last visit really impressed me, the morning was bustling with activity, personnel everywhere, housekeepers in the hall, aides assisting residents to their rooms, wellness area a-buzz with case worker and nursing staff, food service personnel refilling supplies in the Great Room, activities of the day were in progress with many residents at attention, seated enjoying their coffee and each other. We met the Great Room director, very nice gentleman. In all we were warmly greeted by the abundant personnel and very impressed by that. My mother needs 24 hour supervision, delicious meals and close proximity to family members. I think the Arbors at Westbury has it all. My husband remarked as we left, “that place was as cute as heck”.
